Times ABC
Times ABC
The club was founded in 1927 and has been based locally in the King Cross/Angel area since 1975, before moving to its current home on the 1st Floor of the York Way Community Centre, Tiber Gardens, just off Copenhagen St, in 1985. The club has earned itself a strong reputation for helping young people in the area achieve personal and sporting success. Its achievements stretch back to 1934 when the club was sponsored by the Times newspaper and one of its employees, Pat H. Floyd, won Heavyweight gold at the Commonwealth Games. The club welcomes boxers of all levels of ability as long as there's a willingness to work hard, listen, respect the club rules and apply themselves to the demands of boxing. Our trainers and coaches are dedicated individuals who volunteer their services and pride themselves on the development of all those who come through the club doors to train at the Times. If you want to progress to competitive boxing and you're willing to commit to a training schedule managed by our coaches, you'll be more than ready when your time comes to represent the club and wear the club's colours. We believe there's no losing in our sport, "you never lose, you only win or learn". Every experience is a building block towards being the very best that you can be. Times ABC is affiliated to England Boxing, the National Governing Body for the sport of Boxing in England. The club continues to receive amazing support from Islington Borough Council, Islington Council’s Community Chest: funded by Islington Council, in partnership with Cripplegate Foundation, our local Caledonian Ward councillors as well as Emily Thornberry, MP for Islington South. Thank you all for your continued support.
